Upon arrival at Entebbe International airport, our guide with tag will pick you and transfer you to your hotel for relaxation and overnight at Papyrus Guest House
On our first day, we transfer to Uganda’s biggest national park. 3840km2. The park lies are the northern end of the Albertine rift valley, where the Bunyoro escarpment trumbles into the vast, palm dotted savanna. It hosts 76 mammal species and 451 bird species.
We first stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to support the conservation efforts by Rhino Fund of Uganda. We had Rhinos in Uganda before but they went extinct in the wild because of poaching and other factors. In 2004, the Rhino Fund started this project for the re introduction of Rhinos in Uganda. They started with 2 and now have 38 at the sanctuary, by doing a nature walk at the sanctuary looking for Rhinos, you support the conservation efforts towards re introduction of Rhinos into the Wild Uganda.
We have at our lunch at the sanctuary and continue to enter the Murchison falls national park. We visit top of the Murchison falls. The Murchison falls is characterized by eternal war between rock and water. The waters violently compress through a narrow gorge, spraying misty droplets along their wake over a 50m radius. This creates a permanent rainbow over the battle field and causes a continuous roar. After this we will drive to check in into our accommodation at Tilenga Safari Lodge campfire and cocktail in the wild night.
We wake up early after our morning breakfast to go for our first game drive in the Buligi game track, that stretch between the Victoria and Albert Nile. At around 120-350km in length, they pass through open savannah grassland, woodland, acarcia and riverine vegetation and offers an opportunity to sight the big four (lion, leopard, elephant and buffaloe) giraffe’s, many antelopes species can be sighted here.
We break for our bush lunch and then head for the afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls along the Nile where hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes and many aquatic birds are permanent residents. Elephants and many animals come to quench thirst here.
We go back to our lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
After our morning breakfast, we transfer to Kibale National park which is the primate capital of the world. This tropical rainforest hosts about 13 primate species and contains one of the loveliest and most varied tracts of tropical forest in Uganda. The park is also home of 60 mammal species and about 375 bird species.
We arrive in the afternoon and check in at our lodge at Kibale Forest Lodge. Relax and then have an evening forest walk looking for primates and beautiful birds of the forest..
Kibales most popular activity is the Kayanchu Primate Walk. Thirteen species can be sought, and a good variety of diurnal monkeys invariably encountered, but the stars of this twice daily show starts at 8am are chimpanzees. After our chimpanzees tracking we will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park to check in at our logde for dinner and over at Kazinga Wilderness camp.
After our morning breakfast we go to the vast savanna of Kasenyi which is the perfect setting for a classic African Safari experience. Huge herds of Uganda kob attract prides of lions, warthog’s, graze bent down on their knees, guinea fowl scuttle through the grassland and huge dark elephants stride across the game drive tracks providing dream photo opportunities. After our morning game drive we will have an evening boat Cruise at the Kazinga channel in Queen Elizabeth National park.A cruise down the Kazinga channel is the most relaxing way to enjoy a wildlife safari in the evening at Queen Elizabeth National park. The banks are crammed with hippos, buffaloes and waterbirds, along with caimans, monitor lizards, elegant pairs of fish eagles. Elephants stride along the banks- all you need to do is sit back in your seat with camera at ready and enjoy the incredible spectacular.
Dinner and Overnight at Kazinga Wilderness camp
After our morning breakfast, we transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park with stop over at
the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National park, Ishasha. This remote southern region enjoys fewer visitors than the north but those who venture this far may be rewarded with sighting of Ishasha’s most famous residents. The tree climbing lions- lounging in the branches while keeping close eye on herds of Uganda kobs. It is also home to many elephants, buffaloes as well as rare shoebill. We continue our journey to have a relaxed evening at Bakiga Lodge ready for tomorrow’s hectic activity tracking the mountain gorillas.
We wake up early, have a heavy breakfast, pack some lunch and join others for briefing about the do’ and don’t s while with the gorillas. This is a humbling experience to stand just meters from man’s distant cousins as they eat, rest, play and bond with their young. Gorilla Tracking starts at 8:30, following a briefing, we embark on a forest trek lasting from a few hours up to a full day. Depending on the location of the gorillas as they freely range in the Impenetrable forest. After this one obviously needs a relaxing evening. So we will transfer to have a cool evening by the lake side at Lake Bunyonyi Rock resort.
After our morning breakfast, we will transfer to Lake Mburo National park, it’s a compact gem and is the smallest of Uganda’ savannah national parks. We will have an evening nature walk accompanied by a ranger guide.
